I really wanted to show more of what I've learned and what I am capable of now as my internship at Paradox Thalassic is coming to an end. This is a mockup UI I created from scratch with everything from the background map, unit icons, illustration to the the various UI elements. It is a UI meant for a grand strategy game set in medieval Japan during the Heian- to late Kamakura era. A game where you get to manage your country as the emperor of Japan, making sure each province has the people and resources required to make your country thrive. Each province has their own management screen and this in particular is showing how you as a player can manage the millitary in the province of Shimōsa.

Big inspirations for this project has of course been Crusader Kings 3 for the genre and painterly art style, but also Total War Shogun 2 for being a good example of how to display the theme. The project is made in Photoshop CC and I tried to be very accurate to the time era. It is a project born out of pure joy from my love for gsg games and the theme of feudal Japan and one of my favorite parts was painting the icons for the units shown. I would personally love to play a game like this myself and I hope you enjoy seeing it and some of my process of making it as well
